As the most loyal of Gastronomista readers know, I find inspiration for my drinks pretty much anywhere....but sometimes I get a challenge! Last month, Classic Specs reached out to me to create two cocktails inspired by their glasses frame colors Whisky Crystal and Dark & Stormy.
I shared with them a few of my favorite recipes (with a creative spin, of course), and you can find the recipes over on their website. The first cocktail inspired by the name Whisky Crystal is The Toronto, a whisky cocktail that has a wonderfully minty note thanks to the Fernet.
The second cocktail was inspired by the frame color Dark & Stormy, but creating a traditional Dark and Stormy cocktail would have been too easy. I love the fade from grey to clear in these frames, and wanted to create a Negroni variation that also fades from grey to clear.
Head over to Classic Specs for the recipes, and pick up a pair of frames while you're at it. I recently picked out the Nova frames - and I'm beyond in love with them. For $89, what's not to love?
